Well, it's B&W, but it sure captures the era I guess. This was taken in the summer of 1976 - may have been taken the day I bought it. 1970 Cuda 340 4-speed, F8 green with black interior, no console, PS, PDB, 3:55 sure grip, elastomerics F&R, & just under 45,000 miles. I bought it from the original owner - he was an accountant for Chrysler, & his wife worked at a Plymouth dealership. They ordered the car new. This car was pampered - smooth & solid. I have not seen this photo in many years.

I owned it until 1979 & sold it to a local guy. I paid $1300.00 for it - certain things I'll never forget. I had it repainted by a Maaco shop that did some really lousy bodywork on it - the rear wheel opening moldings weren't even close to fitting after the rear quarters were patched - that really bummed me out. Even in this old photo, the car had rust in the rear quarters & in the heels of the front fenders - that's how it was in Michigan even after 5 winters - AND the car had been rustproofed when new by Dynol Tuff-Kote. Anyway, Maaco painted it orange for me & their paint job was really crappy too. In 1978 I was living & working in Chicagoland area & my buddy was behind me in his car & a drunk hit him going about 45 while we were stopped at a light, & slammed his car into mine & that took out the rear bumper & tail panel. I moved back to MI. in the spring of '79 & sold it shortly after I got back for $1500.00. Anyway, I saw the car a couple years later at a gas station & somebody had replaced the front bumper with a chrome one. I have no idea if the car still exists. I still have the window sticker deep in my stash somewhere.

Very cool pic and very cool car to have for a first car! thumbs

No pics, but my first car ('83) was a '68 4dr Dart made of bondo. I'm not 100% certain, but I think this is a pic of the car after I got rid of it......

up, lucky guy, not to be personal, how old were you?

My first car pics were on BW Polaroids, not sure how much longer they will last.

I can't attach my actual first photo of my first car because the file is a .bmp (scanned from a color Polaroid!), so here's a B&W shot from a regular camera, developed and printed by me in Photography class in 1981. I don't recall if I scanned this from a negative, or if I had to use the print.

Very cool first car. I think if I was looking for a 'Cuda, that would be one I would look for. Small block four speed, power disc brakes and power steering. Nice rear end gear too. Just about a perfect combination. Oh, and I like EF8 with no vinyl top.

My first car wasn`t anything near as nice. It was a 66 Dodge Coronet 500 with a 361 2bl. I bought it around 73-74 IIRC. It had more body putty then metal in the car. I don`t have any pics of it.

I was 18. Man, let me tell you - the summer of 76.........

It was magic. This car ran so well & was so solid. I called my dad to come & look at the car - my brother & buddy Mark were there with me. I couldn't drive a stick. I asked my dad to grab a $50 from my stash I was saving & he came right over. My dad did not like Mopars - he was a Ford guy. Anyway, he came right over & took it for a drive along with the guy that owned the car - he just drove it slow & normal - nothing fancy. After we got back to the guy's house, my dad took me aside & said: "If you want a Cuda, THIS is the car to get. It's been well taken care of." Sure made me feel confident that my dad blessed it. I think he really liked the car - he drove it a few times. How could you not love a nice Cuda like this?

Very nice car! Much nicer than my first car. Mine was a 66 Chevelle that was equal parts rust, fiberglass and bondo.
