My question is - I see that Classic Industries sells reproduction 1970/1971 Cuda tail panel moulding sets - but my question is - do they sell the best ones? Does anyone else sell better repops that look more like the original pieces? Does any of the vendors sell the original looking pieces in stainless steel with the same dimensions?

If anyone has used some good stuff - please let me know who is selling it.

Thanks,

Mark

I bought a 1970 Cuda out of Vegas and a racer took the tail panel trim off years ago - so I don't have any to put on it from the car. Original trim is hard to find - and if you can find it it's usually messed up unless NOS - which I haven't seen in years. I'd prefer original trim - but cannot find mint original trim...........the mopar way for sure.

There was some in the ebody section here for sale. Don’t know if it sold yet. Sorry, it sold. He took it to Carlisle, I guess. Says he has three of the four pieces extra. Might check with him. I just bought a 70 cuda and the trim was bent in the back in several places. I was very happy to see he had already bought a oem replacement set along with an NOS rear Cuda valance with cutouts for the exhaust. That stuff has been hard to find for many years.

Buy original pieces you will be much happier with those. If you are doing a restoration go with Chrysler pieces, if you just need something to go on the back to fill the spot then buy the repop stuff and then look for nice original pieces.

O.K. Sounds like the original is the way to go so I'll just have to suck it up and find it. I did look at the pieces that were advertised on Moparts that he wanted $350 & $325 for - and while they weren't twisted or kinked at all - whoever took them off the car messed them up at every place that they clip on the tail panel.

Again, thanks for all the replies - I'll just have to keep the search on.

Agreed

I used a set of repops. , Not impressed.
They leave a bulge at every location where they snap on a clip.
If you have nothing and need something now, Fine. Use them ,,,,,,,,and IMO keep looking for originals

I will take a look to see if I have a set of originals that would be in the trunk of my 1971 Cuda parts car I have. It will be hit or miss can not remember were they are or if I sold them years ago but will take some time to get to the Cuda. You get the Motor in the car and running.
