Has anyone used or signed up with AirBnB?
The terms of use seem legit but there is a lot to read thru..!

No, but a friend of mine lists a triplex through them (daily/weekly rental). He says they stay booked about 6 months out, and the money is always there. As far as I know, he hasn't had any problems with them.

Yes,
We've rented AirBnB properties some half dozen times in NYC, Finger Lakes, Caribbean. Always been happy with the properties and had no issues at all..
Also used VRBO, same thing.

Got any more specific questions?

A girlfriend (at the time) used one in town here when she came out to visit. Worked out great. Even found a full-sized possum living under the kitchen sink...

I don't remember where I read the warning.
A person rented through air bnb, but the owner double booked through vrbo.

I guess the vrbo has a tougher policy because they got kicked out so the vrbo person could take the place over.

I have had great experiences booking accommodations through Airbnb.

We rented an Air B&B for 8 people when my son got married. Was an awesome place HOWEVER there was limited parking and all vehicles needed a city issued parking pass for the duration so that's something to look into if you're going to a big city.

Friends of ours have just started renting out space through Air B&B and they're happy with the results. They lucked out with one of their first customers who asked if they could stay for the whole summer. This length of time is against Air B&B's policy but they just take the listing down for "maintenance" that period.

I had issues with an owner and ABnB handled it very well. Would not hesitate to use again, but CYA and take screen shots of ad and keep all corrrspondence.

I have used them, but because they require so much personal information to sign up, I'd recommend either homeaway or vrbo over them.

A friend did VRBO. Its generally a good deal. Short stays sometimes make the high "cleaning fee" unworkable, but generally its a better deal than a comparable commercial rental. If you own a place and rent it, you can make substantially more than a regular monthly rental property if you screen your guests well.

I have used them from Nashville to Croatia. Will be in Croatia for a week starting tomorrow. For MOST occasions, way better than a hotel. I usually just rent an apartment when I do it. Price is usually great.
