Well beyond my pay grade but an amazing car for sure. Overall, his ad and the pics kinda suck though. Why not have a picture of the engine bay, the tags he claims to have and state whether there is a build sheet. Trans matching numbers? I guess if I was serious and had the cash I would be calling to find out...

I agree. I wasn't even sure the engine was there when I first saw it.

Julius restored my Charger 20 years ago. That looks like his shop in Chatsworth. I agree, the ad sucks, but his nature is short and to the point and he probably figures serious buyers will call for more information. He does good work.

So has the proverbial “you couldn’t build it for that” progressed to the point where even a shop like his just flips projects like that?

The paint and body work doesn’t cost much more for an R code Cuda as a Valiant........is he done restoring cars?
Something doesn’t add up.

And he doesn’t even tell us if a numbers mill resides in the bay.

Where does 'Houston, Texas' fit into all this? You guys say that it looks like his shop, and the ad says the car is in LA. Is the car from Houston?

But, isn't it getting to be the norm too that the more money someone wants for a car, the crappier the ad is? A $500 car will get paragraphs and 20 pics. A $500,000 car will get you barely a sentence and a couple of pics that leave you scratching your head.

shruggy

(not like I'm gonna be buying any Cuda anytime soon)

Come on guys. We're supposed to guess what it will bring. Even though we don't have a clue about the condition of the car. Are the 71 carbs and exhaust manifolds there? Is it a rust bucket? We don't know anything. Hopefully one of you smart guys will decode for us. TorRed & 4 speed sounds like a good car to build. I estimate the restoration cost to be $100,000 if you do most all of the work yourself.

He left SoCal for TX, left behind some very unhappy customers...
He has a guy at the old shop apparently "putting out fires".
I have one of his restorations in the shop. Bodywork & paint needs to be stripped and redone, had to correct several other things.
Got a different & contradictory story every time we spoke.
There's at least one re-body out there from him.

AFAIK it doesn't belong to Julius. He is just involved in the sale.
Car is not since a long time in the US

Do you think my wife would mind if I broke down all our retirement savings into one car? I love it! Fun to watch this auction.

I say you go for it. She'll get over it eventually...

He didn't earn the name "re-bodies by Julius" for no reason.

I was just going to ask that too. Scott HArms I believe looked at the car. As far as the stories of his work or the rebodies. Guess I never heard that before.

NOM, no build sheet, says the block date is May 1970 but I don't know of any such casting date (maybe he means engine assembly date). By the way the owner wants $600,000.
