Good evening all, hopefully this isn't too ignorant of a 500 question but did they come with the bumble bee stripe even if the fender tag reads stripe delete?

Secondly, where is the best place to read/learn about 69 Charger 500s?

I would think the stripe color would be on tag if it came with one.........Good to see you posting Kevin! I was wondering what happened to you.

Thank you, I'm still kicking just wandered off for awhile, still got all my toys and added a few. I'm still living in hotels half the time so I'll have time to start researching this one.

The reason I ask about the stripe is I know little about these cars but have seen evidence of a few V88s that appear to have factory stripes. Granted they could have been added early on and no way to tell 50 years later.

Thanks Barry, the first document indicates all would come with the 500 stripe, the second document indicates code for stripe delete when ordering, the third document talks about the stripe being coded black, white or red, it's dated 9/9, the car in question has a 9/14 SPD. Am I reading the documents correctly? Is this just a case of an early build irregularity? Do you think this car was stripe delete or came with a stripe? I sent you the tag last night.

Spent a little time on the Charger site and in the Aero section reading. I ask the same question and I believe I found the answer, all the 500s were RTs pulled from the line or at some point, they were destine to be 500s when created so they were stripe delete (V88) in order to leave the quarter panels clean for Creative Industries to apply the 500 stripe. If I understood them correctly, all of the 500s had the 500 stripe.

Yes I have a good clean/clear tag and it shows V88 which is what started my inquiries.
