And I just threw away 4 good 10x30 tubes... I would have sent them all to you for spares. Sorry about the bad luck. They can be patched.

we would scuff the surface around the puncture. Clean that surface with some "cleaner". Install the patch. roll a "tool" back & forth & sideways over the patch (not sure how to describe the tool) but it had "cleates". remove what is left of the "cover" from the patch. add air & dunk it & see if no bubbles.

I'm old enough to have patched tires, and tubes, plenty of them. I would patch a race tube, if it was a small hole. Heck, I've plugged tubeless slicks.
If the results don't match the theory, change the theory.

Big difference if you're at home or at the track going rounds Yep. No tubes = plug it and keep going.

Big difference if you're at home or at the track going rounds This. Trust me this has crossed my mind. Trying to be consistent in the low 9's bracket or 9.25 index on a 10.5 tire is tough. Since going to tubes there have been no more out of nowhere +.05 60fts. Which in the past have cost me. Doug

Big difference if you're at home or at the track going rounds This. Luckily in my case it only had to hold 13.5 psi for a few seconds.....
