Anyone have pics of how the weather stripping is supposed to be installed on the doors of a 37 5 window Dodge? Have a kit which contains 2 pieces for each door. Not sure how it should be installed/oriented.

Also, pics of the crank out windshield weatherstripping would be appreciated as well.

Thanks

I just did the weatherstripping on the doors of my 1936 Plymouth 5 window coupe. I just replaced the rubber in the channel at the top. I didn't do the bottom of the doors. If this is of any use to you, let me know. The windshield weatherstripping is next

Yes thanks

Can you send a pic of what you've installed so far? Did you use a universal type weather stripping or a kit for your particular model?

The gasket for the crank out windshield is next for me as well.

I've used several different sources; Andy Bernbaum, Steele Rubber Products, and Rock Auto. The only kit I've used was for the weatherstripping around the fabric top. That was basically the weatherstripping and the 3M Super Weatherstrip and Gasket Adhesive (which I highly recommend). The upper door weatherstripping was a learning experience for me as I didn't realize at first that i didn't have to remove the channel the rubber was held in, just the rubber. Anyway, picture coming tonite or tomorrow

Thanks for that!

So you mentioned a channel. How was/is that attached to the door? There is no track on my door. So I'm hoping to be able to just glue in onto the door.

If I remember correctly, there were a series of spot welds. It's interesting that from Dodge to Plymouth, and one year later, that the channel is not used. Unless a previous owner of your '37 Dodge took them out. I feel like a total dip____ for thinking I had to remove the channel along with the old rubber in order to replace the weatherstripping. I was able to pound the channel back in somewhat, but not completely. Lesson learned. Didn't make that mistake on the second door.
