Hey, All!
Been lurking on here for years. One question. Will this combo fit under the hood. My 68' A Body Barracuda. 340 Block. Stock Carter Carb. Stock Air cleaner. LD340 Intake with paper gasket. Mighty mounts holding it in? Yes?

Not sure what mighty mounts are but otherwise shouldn't be a problem. The LD is basically an aluminum version of the factory intake beer

Without a choke well and a boss to mount an A/C compressor.

Not sure how much of a hood clearance issue you have but on a side note the Holley street dominator is very low profile aluminum intake & is a single plane but reportedly works very well at low(er) RPM's & is a VG general purpose intake & it is fairly cheap used.

LD340 as mentioned is the stock height so will fit under any stock hood.

The LD 340 is approximately a .5" higher than a stock manifold.

I call BS on the "same as a stock intake".
They run more close to the Performer RPM as told by dozens of posts here over the last 14 years.

An intake manifold ahead of its time. Does it all- low end-mid and top end.

Here's an LD340 in a '72 demon and it fits under stock hood.

I ran an M1 single plane under the hood of my 68 Barracuda with a factory air cleaner no problem.

I use my I phone to check hood clearance. I turn the light on in video mode, set it up and close the hood(gently of course). The result is a good video of how much room you have left.

Here is a pretty good list of intake info from forabodiesonly. https://www.forabodiesonly.com/mopar/threads/getting-the-intake-on-intake-manifolds.283550/

The LD 340 was the manifold of choice for a 340/360 for 4 decades.

Should fit but will be super close. I'm running one with a Holley 3310 (which I believe is taller) and using an air cleaner with a drop base (7/8" drop IIRC). ('67 Barracuda)
Get some 'clay' or lightly ball up some aluminum foil on the air cleaner stud and gently close the hood.

As was clarified before, the LD340 is not an aluminum copy of the stock intake.
Some version came with Chrysler part numbers - and for class racing - they were legal - and by following the guidelines in the bulletins they worked well.

The big runners lose velocity at low rpm relative to stock, or LD4B, and most likely one reason why the new "RPM" are better for street and building torque earlier at WOT.

LD340 way above the stock intake. Stock alum replacement would be like the Performer. I ran 11.30's with an LD340 on a relatively mild 360 in a Duster.

Late to the party but anyway.... wink
I switched from a stock intake to an LD340 on the '68 340 I had in my '65 Valiant and had no issues. Not up on the difference in measurements on the 2 but I would hazard a guess that the 'cuda has a tad more room. up

Same height as the 68-71 340

I pulled the TQ off my 1972 340 and intake and put a Street Dominator and the car was way better streetwise but think it suffered top end, till I put a Holley #4776 650DP
I should have used an LD340 and cut the center down like they said t do back then. But the Holley was $75.00 new from a guy who went with a Strip-Dom with Large Cam and made his car cool but slow
