So I bought a Tor-Red Magnum R/T that the previous owner waxed over hundreds of bugs.....not kidding. What steps should I take without destroying the clearcoat? Thanks

Awesome does work well but really careful in full strength. It will stain, in particular glass and anodized metal. Does work really well for black streaks. You do need to wax after use. The machinist mate stuff above is very neutral and will not strip wax.

I mix the car wash detergent with hot tap water. Little elbow grease and the bugs are gone.
Keep old mopars alive.

Are we talking Florida Love Bugs, if so, they are the worst. Just sand and rechrome. Years back I iften used a baking soda paste/soap solution, thought it might have neutralized some of the bugs fluids, don't know for sure, maybe it just a useful soft abrasive. It worked oK.
Reality check, that half the population is smarter then 50% of the people and it's a constantly contested fact.

I'll have to keep that "Awesome" in mind. Never heard of it.
For me WD40 has worked wonders in several situations. That or Goo-Gone.
If those don't work, 150 grit sand paper. Haha, kidding of course.
Facts are stubborn things.

LUV bugs in Florida.... fish flys in Meeeeeechigan ! Those little buggers cover the roadways sometimes and it causes accidents ! There was one notable one here some months ago .... 6 car pileup IIRC.
