The other poll on if you have cracked a 440 block got me to thinking. It seems 1 out of 3 people have cracked a block. Now I think that most of these are high end race motors, but I created a poll that I think will reflect that. Just trying to see if the poll reflects that. If you have cracked a block and don't mind select the choice that fits your motor. Thanks for your time.

Can you make an option "I haven't cracked one" so we can see the results? I think you should add a "total timing" option.

Now I need to pin those needles, got to feel that heat

Stroke, rod length and chamber shape (original wedge or newer heart shape) should also be added.

'86 Maple Grove KOS Mopar low qualifier......true street legal with no power adders.

NOS-used when losing since 1940.

A better question may be, how many passes before the block failed/is found to be cracked?

It won't let me add another Poll, so I'll start another thread with the requested items.

My 440 is 500" 9.5-1 compression spin it to 6700. Makes over a 1000 to the tire at 18 psi and 20* timing. still holding strong.. pretty much a stock block with a girdle..

20 deg timing is the secret to its survival. It will likely live a long happy life with that tune.

I'm curious how many were using a power adder?
I have seen several rod failures, but only cracked block was a nitrous oxide car?
