I'm thinking this would be nice for cooler weather but I just might talk myself out of it. Which is more effective, the type that is welded into the pan or the pad type? I see the pad types are rated 300 to 400 watts....the weld-in about half that, but it's immersed in the fluid/less is wasted to the surrounding air. I'd like to go with the weld-in, but if it takes half a day to warm the oil, maybe I won't bother.... https://www.jegs.com/i/Stefs/861/6771/10002/-1https://www.jegs.com/i/JEGS/555/23671/10002/-1thx

Thanks. It's no good for those ADD car guy moments, then. Good info to keep in mind.

Thanks. It's no good for those ADD car guy moments, then. Good info to keep in mind. Zippy my Son and I both run alcohol. He bought one or two (water) heaters from Jegs that go right in the soft plug holes. I know its not the same as an oil heater but he loves his especially when we race into late October in Pa and ohio. Something to think about or look into as they are pretty cheap and easy to install.

Aha. I never looked into a core plug heater.
They are rated at 600 watts and cost half what the cartridge heater costs, just learned something.
One less weld in the oil pan sounds appealing.
That seems to be a better idea, then.
Thx
