What’s the diff between a 2012 and a 2018 ? Seems to me that’s there’s a diff in performance... the 12 is slower. Not looking for a rocket ship...OR things that would affect MPG ... it’s a champ there.

From my recollection just the engine controller.

My wife had a 2012 300 with the lower horse 3.6. Gave her great mileage (31/35) and was pretty quick with the 8 speed.
She got a great deal on a 2015 and traded in her ‘12. She wanted the sunroof, backup camera and all the additional stuff her ‘12 didn’t have.

She paid the price by getting worse mileage.

I did the research to see what might have changed.

All the engine parts are the same, cam, heads, etc. axle ratio same too. Same 8 speed.

Turns out the engine controller was different - more spark and fuel. Runs like a scaled chicken 🐓 but not happy with the mileage.

T man .... interesting data ..,, don’t know if l want to kill MPG for a little more performance. BTW - what model car did that HPer controller come in ? And something else .... the 2012 had a 6 speed in it ... the 18 has a 8 speed. I would imagine some of that fannyOMETER performance is due to the additional 2 gear changes !

Wife’s 2012 was definitely an 8 speed.
1st year for it.

Both 300’s.

Yes, 9 sped FWD came out I think in 2013 in the 200.
Available in the new Pacifica, and Renegade and others.
When they first came out they shifted like crap. I have a 2019 and it is smooth as silk.
I would stay away from the early versions unless the vehicle had the new software loaded and the trans with the Inverted B clutch update. They are dependable but don’t shift to my liking.

Others may not have an issue with them depending on how and where you drive.

You could always supercharge it. Tidalwave, Ripp and Sprintex all make superchargers for the 3.6 V6. They have kits for the Challenger and Charger. The question would be whether any of these kits would fit a 200.
