I live in the middle to lower class part of town ( that means the homes are still only $900,000) and you still see people working on cars all the time, It's fine as long as they don't make a big deal about running a home auto repair shop and taking up all the parking spaces with old broken cars, That got my old neighbor a few doors up in hot water with he city! He too stupid to understand you cant do that all day long and not eventfully get people pissed off at him when they come home from work and find an old car in their driveway.

While our place isn't quite that valueable, cashing out and moving is very likely for me and the Wife.

Flying Scorpions??? runaway

Even so, it would still be a toss up between knocking scorpions out of the air in FL, or dealing with all the nut jobs you have to deal with running CA. Unless those running CA come to there senses, FL still wins... I'd still rather risk a hurricane or dropping into a sinkhole, than risk burning up in a forest fire, or getting shanked by a homeless heroin addict in San Fran. Then there's that whole working on your own car police thing...

Yes been in this one city my entire life and although it may be filled with crazy folks and the politics are absurd the view from my home is stunning and the climate fits me perfect. Also two of my daughters live with a mile of me. So that's a big factor.

There is no money to be extracted from the homeless. It costs money to prosecute criminals, and then incarcerate them. No money to be made there! The only ones they go after are the drug lords who have money and property to confiscate. Like a previous poster said, they will drive right by a bunch of criminals to bust the chops and fine an average hard working citizen because they CAN extract money from him. I never thought I would see our beloved country turn into a graft driven third world nation.

But it costs money to clean up after them, and pick up the bodies when they OD. It would be cheaper for CA to round them up(Give homeless Vet's option to stay) & then put them on boats to Hawaii, where that State will give them $60k in Cash, Housing Subs & Beni's. (win, win)
And if the relocated decide that's still not good enough... it's a long swim back. whistling That would free up the local CA cops, so they could get back to the important business of busting "legal" citizens that still use plastic straws, carry Bread/Donuts/Pastries in an open basket, or work on their own personal car in their own garage, on their own land. rolleyes
