I had engine freshened up over the winter. It was in the car for 3 years. Ported heads and installed a Dominator intake . This was from May, about 3 weeks ago.

Nice pass! Got an “8” in her??? Probably just needs to take a drive to Maple Grove or Cecil County during cooler weather to get one.

Car weighs 2460, and 2650 with me driving. Any more info, just ask?? Thanks again, the reason I asked is that I have similar car to yours. I just got the latest combination together and have one test weekend in so far. Mine's a 1970 Cuda 2"x3" Alston ladder bar. Strange single adj. front., Penske double adj. rear. 32 x 14.5W x 15 Hoosier 4.10 gear 496 cu.in. 4.350 x 4.15 oem block. 13.3 to 1. Jones custom flat tappet 272/280 .632/.591 1.6 int./1.5 exh. Indy little ez's ported standard port. M1 tunnel ram w/2-750 annular Homebuilt 727 rollerized, both alum. drums. A&A clean neutral valve body. Dynamic 8" (initially to get some flash and shift fallback data) for my test day I was shifting at 6800 both shifts. Flash was 5900 and shift fallback was 550 rpm......based on a previous combo, I'm shooting for 54-5600 flash and 1000 rpm fallback. Mine weighs 2610 with me. The best so far is 9.12 @ 145. @ Beaver Springs 1800' DA that run. It had a slight miss at the top of each gear.(I suspect I had a too hot heat range spark plug and o2's showed slightly lean) I also put a custom 9" Dynamic in, based on the data from the initial runs. Maybe we'll both be at the same track some day.

Harry's Taxi- did you get the oil pressure problem from "Mopar or Nocar" race at Beaver Springs race fixed??
Mike Yes I did. It was a stuck pressure relief valve.....still not sure why. Same pump cover, pan and pickup that I ran on my previous engine and it was fine on this one the week or two before. I have an oil pressure sensor on my O2 recorder and I couldn't have been more stable the previous weekend. I put a new oil pump cover on it and buffed/deburred the relief valve and channel/cylinder on the new one. I didn't see anything out of the ordinary in the filter. I checked all the bearings and they looked like when I put them in.....still had some bore gage marks. ( I got lucky!)

Your experience with the bypass valve sticking closed is not unusual on a new motor, they make metal during break in and some of that in the bypass hole will jam it open or partially closed I've seen it more than once Thanks, that may have been it. I also replaced the hose from the swinging pickup..... just in case there was something collected/stuck in there that didn't want to clean completely out.

Dartsport540 Sorry we got your thread a little off track.
Your ET & MPH are even better than they appear given that Numidia is one of the higher altitude tracks in our area.
