I am looking for any leads to the original engine for my '69 Super Bee. I have spoken with the original owner's son several times and we have pieced a bunch of the history together but we do not have any leads as to where the engine may have ended up.

This is what we know:

The car was ordered and purchased new in Storm Lake, Iowa.
Sometime in the 1970's, the original owner pulled the engine (and transmission?) and put it into an early stock car ('57 Chrysler??).
A little later the engine was removed and placed in a newer stock car body.
Both stock cars were painted red/white with the number "54" and raced in the surrounding area.
We do not know what became of the final stock car or the engine.

I have included a bunch of photos.

Anyone from the Midwest remember the '69 Super Bee or the stock cars? The last 8 digits of the VIN are 9G163199.

Thanks!

Stan
