I am considering installing the electro life power windows in my 1970 challenger ( I have used them before on a 70 b body they work great) has anyone attempted to use the factory switches for this application? I am going from manual to power but do have a set of factory switches and it would be very cool for it to look stock any ideas?

I too am considering fo 70 Challenger. I Installed PW in wife’s 55 T Bird. Was a bigger job than anticipated(pita) but completely pleased with outcome.

Are you considering rear windows also, or only front?

I have factory power windows in my '70 Cuda. They work okay, but I think it would be better to have manual. Those are some big front windows and not just every motor is up to the task. Aren't the assist springs stiffer for the power windows?

The factory switches are getting harder to find and usually the springs in them are weak which gives the switch a mushy or indistinct feel. I have not had a lot of problems with my power windows, but quite frankly, I am always a little apprehensive when I roll them down that they might not go back up. Has only happened a couple of times, but I have never had a manual fail me.

You might check out some factory set-ups and see if they are up to your standards. I don't think I would recommend power windows overall.

I tried the Electro Life pwr window kit in my Challenger and it was disappointing to say the least.
The glass is so heavy they dropped like a rock and struggled to raise.
I had them directly wired to the battery so it wasn’t a voltage drop issue.
I talked to Electric life directly and they suggested I add a helper spring like the stock regulator. I could tell they had heard this problem many times before. I wasn't interested in doing that so I sent them back. It only makes sense, just like a garage door, spring winds up on way down, slowing it down, then unwinds on way up, helping it lift. Even the 40yr old factory parts have the assist spring.
