My TTI headers on aluminum head BB have a tendency to loosen, which requires occasional retightening. Am using studs.

There are a number of locking technologies to help, I did an investigation of several and it appears this is as simple as any, more effective than others, and reasonable in cost. Amazon but not Summit sell.

I did a search on our forum and found no references to their use, which is surprising.

This U Tube video, comparing several options for locking was impressive. There are several such videos.

Has anyone on the forum used them, and if so,,,opinions?

I am going to order up. Unfortunately sold in packs of 8, headers require 12.

Header gaskests compress under heat, correct? Same thing on bolts or studs when heated they grow in length, correct?
My point is once you retighten them several times they should take a permanent set and stay tight, mine do work
As far as those locking washers on header flanges I would pass down twocents

Get some remflex gaskets. My bolts never loosened up with them.

We used them on critical electrical connections. They are expensive but are a pretty good choice if you are forced to use a fastener that is too short. Do you have room to add a 3/4" long spacer and use a longer stud? The extra stretch length would help.

I use them at work and are a dandy choice for locking things together but like said before that is not the problem gasket crush will require a couple of re-tightenings untill they take a set, once they do then you are as good as gold.

I use the Nordlock 3/8" washers on my engine in combination with remflex gaskets, hooker headers and Eddy heads. No header bolts coming loose and no leaks after five years.

Having both remflex gaskets and nord locks(how much thicker are nord locks verses standard lock washer?), were standard length header bolts(or studs) long enough to get a adequate bite into head threads? Having aluminum heads, this could be an issue so as not to strip out threads.

I would guess that upon initial installation a secondary torquing of bolts is still required after a few heating/cooling cycles.
