Yes, I can confirm that Howie already had a number of other Mopars, prior to the ones he just acquired through Mecum. I have not been over by him for a while, even though he is only about 3 miles from me, so I will have to drop in on him and offer congrats.

LOL!!!

I don't know his situation - are his cars ever made public?

I am not that far from Howie, and have seen his collection. For those of you he is a real nice guy but I don't think you will see any of his collection soon.

All I can say is that it was an incredible experience for me in every way and I was truly honored to play a small part in assisting. I hope that I was able to honor Steven in a way he would like, and I am confident that I did.

I can add that with everything said and done, the Mecum team did a truly outstanding job of honoring his wishes. And of course, that is the main thing; as I know his wishes were met for Nicole and his two Grand-kids.

Steve was a true car enthusiast and will be missed.
When I went to the Mecum site and saw an Opel Manta on the block, I was shocked.
Had no idea that it was the first car model Steve had owned.
The same car was my first car model , long before getting into Mopars.
Small world...

I had a maroon Opel Manta, and a yellow Kadet wagon! The Manta was a stick and the shifter broke off, drove it for 6 months with a vise grip as the shifter... laugh2

Yes, Bob, I have been over there as well, and he has many very interesting cars. Mostly Mopars. BUT.......He is a VERY private individual, so getting any sort of tour is highly unlikely.

He also has the Plum Crazy Purple 10K original mile 71 Hemi Charger R/T that he had purchased from Steve some time ago. One of most incredible cars I have ever seen!

Bill, When we went to see Howie he had ordered Pizza for us, but there was no table so he just but a few towels on the 1970 Charger hood. I was thinking OMG, I could not eat near that car at all.

Looking over old pics at steves I noticed the 71 charger in the picks and later in one of the magazines featuring the car nice car!Its a shame I didn't take a good look at it at the time because I was drooling over the RTS roadrunners and the supercharger and daroo and all the cool memorabilia!

Considering the Mod Top 69 Barracuda 340 car went for $400K, I have to wonder what the Mod Top Hemi Cuda would have fetched. That was an incredible car.
