This was attached to the springs in my bucket seat. Can anybody decipher it?

5 digit vendor code.

7 digit part number for the seat frame.

Date code - 9 24 69 - September 24th, 1969 (1970 model year)

What was your SPD (Scheduled Production Date)?

Sometimes the seat date is very close to SPD. For example, my SPD was 11/8/68, and one of the bucket seats was 11/11/68.

Apparently seats (and steel wheels) were very fast availability.

My date built was 10/17/69.

Tag from B Body with SPD of 927. I can't imagine the factories wanted piles of seats to inventory and store.

Actual car 'build days' were not recorded.

Is the "Vendor" the same as where the car was built?

There were hundreds vendors (outside companies) that supplied parts To Chrysler for these cars.

They had their own locations but not at the final assembly plants.

So is there a way to find out what Vendor by the Vendor code or is that impossible to find out?

Anything is possible.

The seat tag shown at www.hamtramck-historical.com/images...n%20an%20LA%20built%201965%20Valiant.jpg was found in a seat frame, but the vendor number was not recorded.

For some items there were also multiple vendors.

A lot of parts have 5 digit vendor codes.

Milwaukee Bedding Co. was also a seat frame vendor.

Is there a way to find out what Vendor mine came from?
