Finally got a chance to lay the hammer down on the dyno with the baby turbo. 2009+ 5.7 hemi with drop in forged pistons/rods. 80 lb injectors, dual Walbro 255s, Holley HP EFI, Bullseye Street Billet S366. With the gate slammed shut it made 17 psi peak until it choked out and tapered down to 12 by the end of the pull. Normally makes peak power at 5500 at lower boost but only 4600 this way, severely turbo limited. Pretty surprised, didn't expect 700 whp this easy. It could make more if I pulled some fuel but I was thrilled with 720.

The little budget 5.7 keeps on surprising me.

awesome work! that little 5.7 is screaming. apparently you don't need much on these hemis to make hellcat power.

You know my legendary cheapness. It's still on the original ones. One of these days I'll bite the bullet and upgrade.

this just proves that boost is king. stuff the engine full of air and fuel and watch it work.

I started tracking the prices of 6.1's and 6.4's as a basis for my Coronet eventually, maybe I don't need that additional upfront expense smile
Already got a 76mm 1.23AR T6 baby dump truck turbo for it.

How much power did you make before the drop in slugs?
And before re-gapping the rings?

I'd have to go back and look but I'm pretty sure it did 580 whp and 654 ft-lbs with the stock untouched bottom end. Went in the 10s at 4000 lbs with a clutch. I never hurt it, just upgraded so that I didn't have to worry about it.

Wow, so impressive!! Been following your threads because I've been impressed with your ride. Seeing what you did, It really is convincing myself when the big block in my GTX needs to be gone through, to go a route like what you did. Big power and drivability, so nice!

I have a sealed catch can inline with the pcv loop and a vented catch can on the crankcase vent.

You can see the cans in this picture. Silver one is the vented one that runs to the crankcase vent on the driver's side of the 5.7 intake. Black one is the sealed one that goes inline with the PCV loop.

what did you do for manifolds? Do you have a thread anywhere showing the build of the turbo stuff?

On my previous hemi Cherokee I built customer headers for the turbo system. This one is using LS up and forward headers with adapter plates. They fit my application but not most others.

Unfortunately I don't really have a build thread on this one but I do have one for my red one before this. There's a little detail on the blue one at the end. http://www.ifsja.org/forums/vb/showthread.php?t=127321

interesting, I think I'm going to be looking for all the width I can save in a car so even adding that adapter plate in there might be too much. Someone at PRI saw some company with some Gen III turbo manifolds but I haven't been able to track anything done.

No, not able to make Drag Week again this year. My big trip was going to be the FM3 Cars and Cones week but I ended up moving clear across the country and couldn't make that either. Hoping to do some fun stuff again soon.
