Dare I ask... quickest Stealth headed car?
Isn't that like asking who's the fastest at the Special Olympics????
A couple of years ago, I trained really hard for the Route 66 Marathon, and ran it in 4 Hours 42 minutes. That won me 2nd place in the 230lb and up Clydsdale class. So, as the 2nd fastest "Really Fat Guy" at a marathon, I feel qualified to talk about fast stealth headed race cars!!
Actually these heads hit thier niche of an "Affordable aluminum head", and also the market of "Iron replacement that still looks stock". Which would explain why they are on more street cars, mild engines, and resto type projects than race cars.
My youngest brother faced the problem of an over-eager step son, who desparately wanted a quick mopar, was still in school, and had no money. My brother felt it was important for the kid to work on it has hard as he did, and to learn how to budget for each improvement.
The starting point was a rough, rusty around the edges, 78 Aspen slant 6 car. A marred up set of used satin Centerlines were the first addition. Then they went out in a guy's feild in the winter and dropped a cast crank 440 and 727 out of a 75 Winnebago. they opened up the bottom end, beat in some ARP bolts, and added an 8 quart pan. It went in the Aspen with a set of used up A-body 2 inch fenderwell exit headers, that essentially forced them to butcher the inner fenderwells, and they threw on a Torker II and 750DP that I had purchased and ran in 1988.
It ran 14.13 - 99 with the stock 2.76 geared 7 1/4 and a Trans-Go TF-3 FM shift kit.
Next addition was a well used 54" B-body 8 3/4 with a wore out 3.91 cone type suregrip, and a free set of 30X9 goodyear radial slicks (Take-offs from a Stocker at a divisional race) on police wheels. 13.50 - 99
His step son then spent the summer between his junior and senior year at boot camp, and came home with some U.S. Army jingle in his pocket. The Stealth heads were bolted on out-of-the box with 1009 fel-pros, and a 231/237, 525 on 110 Comp hydraulic cam, they re-used the stock timing chain, rockers, and pushrods, same intake and carb. Slid in a big-shot plate, and upgraded to a Carter mechanical fuel pump. They went with a 3500 J&W 10" converter. The straight headers with muffler inserts were now too loud and he got an excessive noise ticket first day out on the street with the new combo. So a cheap 3" system was fabbed with turndowns in front of the rear-end. Stree-tire passes netted 12.86-108 on motor, and 12.45 - 118 rolling into the nitrous in 2nd gear (150 or so shot).
Next up was a DS loop, and sub-frame connectors, and a visit to the track with the old 30X9 slicks. 12.32 - 109 on Motor was the result. The stock Aspen 6 cyl springs wrap up so hard, and his fear of breaking stuff got the better of the kid, so he eased into the bottle at the top of 2nd and went 12.00-119. He came back around, and decided to go for it, grabbed the nitrous about 40ft. out, and promptly emptied the bottle at 800ft. going 11.78 - 110.
A 6 point bar, re-upholstered back seat, and plastic buckets are the latest additions, but we have to wait until he returns from AIT to see what it's capable of next...or which used up, old, hand-me-down part fails first!!

The Stealths have been out for a while and we have seen some flow data... but I haven't seen any track results. ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/scope.gif)
You can look at times from Ebrock RPM headed cars , results from those heads that have been run thru Moderns CNC porting will give you the answer you seek.

I'd love to do a serious build with these heads just to prove the redheaded stepchild knows how to fight.
if you have done a max effort with the ebrock RPM you already know what the potential of the stealth is .

HAHA! The wagging finger always cracks me up! Almost as good as the 'shame on you' carrot peeling finger motion, but there's no emoticon for that yet- or is there?

Yep, that is the point. We have yet to do a max effort. There has always been something limiting the effort. We now have Edelbrock and Stealth capabilities that we didn't have on the 787 HP effort.
Maybe the pump gas 500 in the works will help us see what is possible. However the customer doesn't want anything to do with those heads. His goal is a minimum of 800 HP. I told him to pick any head he wants and we'll get it for him. Can't wait to see what he chooses.
