Looking for a way out of Middl...
I am swapping the transmission out on my 74 440 B Body RR.

The old one died a premature death partially because of no kickdown linkage. The transmission has parts of the a 3 piece system on it but it isn't complete. I bought it that way so I don't know where the parts are or what was original.

1st Question. Didn't the 74 440's use the single linkage rod not the 3 piece rod and bellcrank system?
2nd Question does anyone repop the single rod systems for a 74 model?

Since it has a mid rise (higher than stock) intake I am thinking of a cable system.

3rd Question. Is there a good or bad brand of cable to buy or avoid?
4th Question. Has anyone modified a stock late model A518 cable for the purpose?

Thanks

i DO NOT LIKE the LOKAR cable setup. cheap brackets, a little [but not by much, just a few thousandths] thicker than cheap bicycle brake cable, almost impossible to adjust Properly.
STAY AWAY ! tsk

Bouchillon or the 518 style cable are your ONLY options of cable operated throttle valve control. just my opinion, your mileage may vary.
did i say i DON'T LIKE the LOKAR setup ? flame

I put the Bouchillon setup on a '70 Duster 360/727 about a year ago; the install was easy and it works great.
