Anyone know if there is a serpentine belt tensioner available for our old mopar? Need one for my 511. I replaced my 17" flexilite fan for a 19" fan. The bigger fan grabs so much air that when I rev the engine the belts squeaks and I have i the belt as tight as I dare. Fan works great for cooling as i took a ride and 160* was the most temp as it would get. This is with a block filled 3" within the deck. Thanks

Done searching. Nothing much available without buying a pulley kit or alot of fabrication. Trying one more thing then back to electric fans. Electric fans would free a couple hp.

Are you using the viscous fan clutch and it's squealing the belt?

what serpentine belt kit are you running? we run a belt tensioner in our kit, but also recommend going to electric fans. with the high amp alternator on there why wouldn't you? but we do have people that have modded the kit to accept a clutch fan and a direct drive fan. so its possible.

no, I have no room for a clutch hub. Just the 19" flexilite flex fan. It grabs a bunch of air.

I don't have a kit. I just bought separate 6 vane pulleys. I suppose I could make something work if I had the time, but I don't nor the patients. I'm really talking myself into the dual electric fan deal. I know this fan is going to eat some hp.

our baseline kits are pretty affordable. might want to check them out. I still would go with the electric fans though

Looking to put some electric fans on it. ECP cooling fan kit comes with 2 13" spal low profile fans, aluminum shroud and wiring kit for $550. Ouch. Tried piecing it together, but can't find the correct aluminum shoud 27x16 with 13" holes like they use.

i run twin fans on my radiator and don't use a shroud. as long as the fans are mounted close enough to the radiator, you don't need a shroud. and in that case if its not designed well, it could actually hurt cooling at higher speeds. I've seen some shrouds build with door or louvers that open when at speed. seems like kind of a hokey fix. I've never had my engine overheat and can watch the temp gauge drop when the fans are on.

Jerry, I want the fans to pull air thru the entire core, not just in the fan circle. Got to keep it cool.

right, but that little bit of extra cooling at idle won't give you much benefit with twin electric fans. if you look at a factory shroud, there is a large taper to it, so it draws the air into the fan. with the design you posted above you basically have a flat sheet pan with two holes cut into it. while driving that will restrict more air flow, as the air has to make to tight turn just past the core. like I said, the good versions of those shrouds that mount electric fans, have louvers or spring loaded doors that open at driving speeds.

I have That ECP fan setup with the controller. I haven't driven a lot but so far keeps my 505 cool.

I run the HHR fan and shroud it covers the rad 100% except for 4 tiny
corners.. I had to put 2 spring loaded doors on the shroud so it would
cool down a bit more at speed..my rad is on a leaning angle to the rear so if
I didnt have the spring loaded doors on it they would be hanging open
at all times.. which would be fine while at speed but with the springs they
close at idle but open when the fan turns on

My ECP radiator does a great job with my 511 tall filled block . I have a oil and trans cooler on the front of the core and using a 19" mechanical fan it over cools with just 2 gallons of coolant capacity.

Gave up on ECP for the fan kit. They wanted $557 for the fan kit. I tried to piece it out and get the aluminum shroud and harness and get the Spal fans for way less at StarPerformance, but Frank started playing stupid with me and act like he didn't know what I wanted to do. I'm now going thru the fanman at Mattson's radiator. Can get the whole kit for $350 and $400 with 13" fans. They are treating me pretty good so far and will be ordering Monday. Thanks guys
