Chrysler sure has missed the mark over the years. Mopar diehards wanted a V8 rear wheel drive way back like in the 80s and were ignored by Ma Mopar. I heard about one Vehicle called the ME412 that the engineers in Chrysler built it in 11 month and it would be a little bit expensive but Mercedes decided to cancel this car because it was a faster car with a detuned motor than what they were selling at Mercedes. The Twelve stand for 12 cylinders and the 4 is how many turbos on the motor. A detuned version of this mid engine had 850 HP. As you can imagine a bite of tweaking and 850 could turn into well over 1000 very easily. Well I believe there was only 5 of these built and isn't this what the 2020 corvette is turning into a mid engine sport car. Drop the ball again Chrysler. Putting a limit on an over the counter motor this new Gen 111. I sure hope Chrysler built these Gen 111s a lot better then they did with the Gen 11 hemi. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oHVsNNQLJPc

I believe it started long before Fiat I got my first parts counterman job in 1978, at Kay Chrysler Plymouth Imperial. The Direct Connection program was already dysfunctional. The mostly vendor based items were usually available, but the corporate items were always weeks to months out. I retired last year, and it is neither worse or better, than 1978. 40 years of bs.

I believe it started long before Fiat MP has been in the crap parts for stupid money business for a long time. Now they just like to stir up drama I guess. Talk and tease about all the great things they're gonna do/build/sell and never follow through.

My thinking is just the opposite of most on here. It’s never been better for Mopar guys. go to a test n tune night at Keystone and the lanes are full of Gen 3 Hemi cars. Go on a race day and the lanes are full of 8, 9, 10, and 11 second old iron cars. Times have never been better for the Mopar lovers.

I have to agree, the Gen III hemis offer a whole new way for Mopar guys to make hp in a reasonable, affordable way. The real high end stuff isn't any cheaper, but up to about 800 hp they seem like a very cost effective way to go and have decent availability IMO.

Mopar/Chrysler/Fiat/whatever is putting out some fast and cool cars nowadays, but my comment was about Mopar Performance.

News flash...Not everyone wants, or is able to use, a G3 Hemi.
If the results don't match the theory, change the theory.

Shouldn't be such a goat rodeo to try and get something done. If FCA doesn't want to participate, just stop going through the motions. No blocks or heads. Can't deliver on stuff after making a big production out of it. Not accomplishing anything but pissing people off.
If the results don't match the theory, change the theory.

I posted on the Gen 3 forum but I thought I was on the list for one. I have the money and a car to put one in. Got a call to buy one and the dealer would not take a CC over the phone. I had to get the bank wire transfer mailed to me, but in the interim my father went into the ICU and I had to leave town the next AM.
Yeah I am pissed, but it is what it is. I had budgeted about $10K to get the motor put in, plus tranny and converter if I had to change to a glide.
Oh well. Sorry about your Dad. Why not go and pick up a Gen II KB block, St.V heads, Procharger with XFI/XiM and have like 2k+ hp on pump gas for the same $$? I think Steve Morris has done this a few times, might be worth a call if that's something you would consider. I understand it's not at all the same process as getting an assembled crate engine in a few weeks, but you could have some outrageous stuff for the kind of coin you were going to spend. Best of luck to you with whatever you decide to do. .

At almost 40k by time pay for motor. Then stuff to fire it up. Taxes and shipping. Then...to find out THIS motor has no warrenty. Like the other motors do and sold as is....its not the "DEAL" everyone thinks it is
Seams all parts sold that start with a "p" are considered race parts and sold as is. And the hellephant motor is one of them Do you have 40k laying around for a chance. All is good with it??
My thoughts is this is a test. The market to see how many people will step up to buy a 1000 hp challenger

I have a low deck KB block, a set of B1 heads that were shaved down to 47cc. I also have a V7-YSi blower, blow through E-85 dominator, etc. I had asked Steve Morris to make me a cam for the 48* motor that would be able to use that blower at 10-1. He refused and said to get a BB chebby instead. headers have been a real hassle and the old ones are worn out.
I may put my 416 and 904 in just to drive it around this summer. For 40K, I can make a phone call and have two 1000HP engines in my driveway by next weekend. Just a different flavor. Sad, but true.
If the results don't match the theory, change the theory.

The sad part is, some of the guys that get them will put them on the shelf as a "trophy" to look at in hopes they will go up in value. "Mopar Performance" has been dead to me for years. Too many horror stories to tell of trying to deal with a local dealer and getting bent over on pricing and quality.

Yeah, and I will not be a buyer of a flipper motor. In my mind these would be a good retainer of value, better than a custom built motor. But it won't be me that pays extra. I think I will put my 416 in (so much easier) and roll with it. Get the plane fixed now that the runway has new grass after 4 years of dirtwork, and F this FCA BS.
