Fastbird, this is good news. I am a few numbers after you and also need a B/E box. I hope I am in this next run.

For those of you who have one in a car and using it, have you tried it at the drag strip? I'm wondering how it'll perform in my 530 HP A- body when using a McLeod Soft Lok clutch.

This sounds like great news. I don't know whether to be excited or skeptical. Per Jamie, I'm #200 on his list for what seems like about 7 years. Have even received the calls asking if I still want one (YES!!!). I suppose it's good news that the version I need is being made, the E-body for my '71 bucket seat RR. I'm going to make a call this coming week to see what's what.
. That's good news..I think I am a few numbers ahead of you (180 something I think)

I'd love to have one, but I just can't do the years of time it will take to get one. If I had a rare, unmolested car that I wasn't willing to cut up, I, like a lot of you would just wait. I, however have a 6 cyl three speed stick '65 Belvedere post that I have no problem cutting on. I'll be getting a T56 Magnum 6 speed which is capable of 700 ft. lbs + and is available TODAY for $2500 less then this trans. I wish Jamie and all of the people who have been on the list for years the best of luck and hope all of the back orders get filled soon. I can't imagine the stress of trying to get these out and for sale for all of these years.

It would be nice if someone could post a YouTube video of their A-855 trans going thru the gears?

[quote. In my opinion shifting an 855 is indistinguishable from an 833 [/quote] I agree completely. I put 800 miles on mine when it was in my E body.....

Boone boxing up a couple of transmissions to ship. Slowly but surely they finally starting to trickle out the door.

If you have been waiting for a trans I'd recommend contacting John. If you have money he will be thrilled to sell you one. No friend status needed. My transaction with John was flawless and the trans lives up to the hype. WELL worth the wait. Think about this for a moment. How difficult is it to buy a new HEMI block? In comparison, how difficult do you think a clean sheet design bolt in transmission would be to bring to market? I support people who support the hobby

Seems like there's always a trans around the corner or something, but still nada for me.

I can only speak for my experience. When I found out he was a part of the 855 project through this thread I contacted him.
There was a trans available and I had it inside 2 weeks from the first time we spoke. Maybe I was lucky.
Also, I was 136 on the list that doesn't seem to matter

I searched for any videos of the A-855 in the car and running and found none? Hopefully someone can show us what it’s like to cruise on the highway with a performance rear end while maintaining 75-80 mph with traffic........ I will certainly post a vid when I get my Barton 528/A-855/3.54D60 drivetrain combo up and running...... TBF
