Can anyone post pics of their factory dash pad in relation to the a-pillar covers?

I have a new pad, it looks great, but there's a little more gap than I expected. Not sure if it's the pad or the covers.

Normal? The A-pillar covers are not screwed into place, but I don't think it will make a difference.

See 62max, that's a nice fit. Yes, my gaps are the same on both sides. I'm wondering if I have a bad aftermarket dash-pad.

Original cars should have a pretty good fit, judging by the many I've owned; I don't recall any gap wider than 1/4" on mine in that area.
Note the contours on Bill's (62max) pad vs the aftermarket pad, the aftermarket looks more rounded.
It'd be nice to measure the width of an original pad vs aftermarket.
I've played with aftermarket A-pillar garnish and originals and the aftermarket was actually pretty good.
But the originals have the little tabs that lock into the dash frame, which the aftermarket ones lack.

Yeah, I'm really unhappy with these gaps. I don't have the original dash pad to measure. I can only assume it's the pad at the moment. Anyone have a similar experience? Would anyone be willing to measure their original pad?

Bill, is that the entire pad including the "wings" that get covered by the garnish, or the raised are between them?

Thank you.

I'm assuming you're not including the "wings" that get covered by the A-Pillar covers.

I'm going to go measure!

If you bought this from one of the "big name" vendors then they are coming from overseas and they are shorter than an original pad.
I stopped selling those years ago because of that issue, the only ones that are correct are the ones made using an original steel core and made in the US.
That is all I sell now and they fit perfect.

Hmm...I measured 51 1/8" but I have a lot more than 1/8" additional gap that I wish wasn't there.

Would you be willing to measure one of your pads?

I am using aftermarket A pillar trim, but that can't be the issue because it would be too easy and less expensive to deal with. smile
