Well new slip on the right, I ran 11.11, picked up 2mph in the 1/8 & lost 2mph in the 1/4, when I hit high gear it just laid down, fuel problem ? trans ? will figure it out. Race weight 4050lbs drove 130 miles round trip. I am so mad at myself, I did not look at my AFR gauge when it happened. 4 hours one run

I forgot that thing was EFI.

I would think it would be even more important to insure the fuel pressure is constant with that set up.

What system are you running that operates at only 6psi(or did you mean 60psi)?

Edit: looking at the specs for the Walbro 255 pump, I’d say you’re at the point where it may just not be enough pump.
It’s rated for 630hp........ going by this:

Yes that is the pump I have, it is still Carbed, running a 6psi adjustable return regulator. it is an EFI set up tank, will go EFI as money allows

Good Morning, I just did a fuel pump volume test, please correct me if I am wrong, it took 41 seconds for 1 qt @ 6psi, my math says my fuel system is only putting out 21.95 GPH, if thats the case it would explain a lot.
Thanks Charlie

If you did the test right....... then just under 22gph is what I get for 1qt in 41 seconds.

I assume you tapped into the system from the line that feeds the carb, installed a valve on the end of the line, turn on the pump and close down the valve to achieve 6psi system pressure.
Then time the flow.

I would try it at 5, 4, 3 psi as well, just to see how low the system pressure would have to be to flow the fuel you need (50-55gph).

My experience has been that when flowing the entire system, while maintaining the required system pressure....... you need something like a 140gph pump....... for your power level(600-650hp).

I have seen many systems not pass this test when fuel pumps that are marginally suitable are used.

The question now is, is it the pump...... or a restriction in the line/system?

Did you see what the free flow was?

I know of one instance where the free low was more than adequate, but when tested at 6si, there was barely a dribble coming through(about 6mins to fill a gallon can).

Such a cool car, one of my favorites here.

Fuel flow doesn't sound like quite enough!
