All the conversions I've found are for installing a small block Chevy or a 4 cyl. Cummins into these old Power Wagons so I decided to do one with a 440 engine. Get the torch, air tools, tape measure and welder ready. Here's what I'm starting with, 1954 Dodge 1 ton flat fender Power Wagon with a dump bed.

Trailer, what trailer?, I don't see no stinking trailer. Hey, your Dad's '72 really looks sweet.
Now, onto putting a '70 'Cuda firewall in the truck, and setting it back 2.5".

Test fitting the cab back onto the frame with the 440 in place. 3/4" clearance. Time to seal weld the firewall in place.

Holy CRAP! I've seen a few of these old Power Wagons, never seen one with a 440 in it. I'll be keeping an eye on this build. What front & rear diffs are you using?

The front diff was from a 93 W-100...the vacuum actuator was shimmed so always locked together...then the new Warn Hubs were installed...It's a 5 x 51/2" bolt pattern...Front diff was a 3.55 when I sold it and everything else was rebuilt...

Rear looks like a Dana... shruggy

It looks like the 73 W-100 Transfer case along with a trans that ma-mopar never built... scope

Mike I'm glad your able to make some use of all of those parts...they weren't going to help me out at all...

I think some of the drive line guts came from this when I got rid of it...hidden behind the 65 Coronet...It was a 73 W-100 originally...

Keep at it... up

Skicker knows, I got a lot of the parts from him. The rear diff is an '87 9 1/4" with 3.55 trac lock, front is a Dana 44 and has 3.54 gears. That big block 727 trans with the short tail was actually built by our good buddy Jim Kennel (RIP). He took the short tail from a small block 727 and put it onto a big block 727 case so the divorced transfer case could be used.

Ever seen Stacey David's Sgt Rock? Maybe not exactly a 440, but still a big block. SGT. ROCK

As for the OP's truck, very cool! thumbs

Sgt. Rock sure is a nice truck. I wish I would have free stuff given to me for this build and have a crew to work on it. Unfortunately I'm like the rest of us here, this is ALL on my dime and doing all the work myself at my little garage. There are no sponsors giving me an engine, transmission, differentials, wheels and tires, etc...
Here's the floor hump going in and the right side floor mocked up. Floor hump taken from a donor car and floor panel from the original floor cut up to fit.

Here's what the finished truck is going to look like, at least that's what I'm shooting for.
