Who make custom head gaskets besides Cometic? If you followed my recent post about stroker quench, I contacted Cometic and they a very adamant that their MLS gaskets will NOT work on a deck surface that does not have the proper finish - which mine doesn't. Their copper gaskets are not an option either because they require o-ringing the block. So my last option is to find a company that will make a custom thicker head gasket. I really don't want to tear the whole motor apart again to mill the pistons.

Try FLATOUT GASKETS.. owner Mark Adellizzi... past Fel-Pro engineering background ... I worked with him for many years... great guy!

BUT... as surface finish is a problem of concern for metal faced gaskets (ie: MLS, copper, etc), why don't you just use the Fel-Pro Performanc BB head gasket #1009... fiber faced, ant-istick coatings, with stainless steel armor that warps around an internal pre-compressed wire ring... this is bullet proof... long lasting and race proven! The internal wire ring is the same concept/design as commonly used for diesel engines (with high CR such as 16-21 and up).

Because NOBODY makes that style of gasket thick enough for my purpose. The thickest is Felpro at .052. I need .062 or ideally .067

Felpro copper shim ( .020 ) plus Felpro .052 gets you at .072. Just .005 more. You can maybe resurface the heads to reach it, and get the copper shim against head

How close to the correct finish are you?

Cometic has to tell you that because of the potential for it to leak water and all the liability bs from that. They also say no coppercote etc.

I'd be more concerned about the decks being dead nuts flat/true and if they are, use the Cometics with a very thin coat of sealer.

I would think any brand name type ie Permatex or equivalent. You're just sealing water not compression

Who the hell knows ... without the tool to measure RA its a guess. BUT I did watch a video about head gaskets and deck finishes and I don't think its smooth enough. Even the machine shop says its not smooth enough for MLS gaskets.
