I know this comes up, but I've never paid attention since I haven't need one.

The question is who do you guys like for a fuel sending unit for an E body?

Thanks

Vans Auto got me one that worked 2nd time around. They'll test the resistance prior to shipping. You'll probably have to tweak the arm to get it to read properly.

Basically, hit or miss and all junk is my experience with two vendors and 5 pickups shipped. Vendors don't even want them back and 1st vendor (classic industries) offered up a refund 1st before offering to replace.

Agreed, they are the worst of the worst. You might call a yard & see if you can locate a good used one.

Knowing how bad the replacement sending units are, I sent my original Cuda one to this company to rebuild. Works perfectly. http://tristarrradiator.com/Classic%20%20Vintage%20Page/Classic%20%20Vintage%20Page.html

Dang! Wish I'd thought to look for a re builder before I got into the repop nightmare. Mine works fine, just my recipe called for a 3/8" pickup with a return instead of a 5/16".

Thanks for sharing this. The last place I had a bookmark for that would rebuild them got out of that business.

FYI...the link as is does not work for me. Crop it to tristarradiator.com and it goes through.

My gauge shows just over half with the tank full and it takes about a full minute to get there.

Does it do any good to bend the float up?

Cool, think they could convert a 5/16 to 3/8?

Don't be the exception.

A-body repop fuel sending units aren't any better. I was lucky to find a NOS one at Carlisle. If NOS isn't an option, I would send your original for a rebuild.
