So im a fan blade away from firing engine up
I bought viscous fan kit 3-4 years ago
Nice blade , but not so sure I received the correcf
clutch .

The ones ive seen advertised have a
spring on front of the clutch

I received a part number 17051613
No spring on front

What kinda clutch did I receive
Ive googled the part number backwards and
forwards ..

Am I going to end up doin this twice ?

When i look at Manicinis site the clutch looks
similar but their kit has 7 blades .

This is image of clutch I received
Obviously is non thermostatic ..

The type of clutch you need depends on your application. What is your combo? Car, eng, a/c, or no ect.

Original fan for most B-body's would be 18 1/2" seven blade ,either thermostatic or torque depending on application. Most HP applications use 2806070 clutch & 18 1/2" 2863216 blade.

Interestingly, in my last MP catalog, for part number P4120758, at the end of the description it says “not for street use”.

My understanding is this was sold as a “horsepower saving” package, not factory replacement type package.

Yes, correct. If memory serves (it's been 6 years), original application for the clutch was
a 6 cylinder vehicle, and it is designed to slip and save power.

The 5 blade fan was used on v8 M bodies, and is fine for most apps.

If that is all right, my next step would be to check the 4-series OE part number above to see if it supersedes to
the new OE number you were shipped. I'm thinking it most likely does not

Two sources for the thermostatic clutch. Bouchillon... but you have to ask for it. Last I looked they advertise the non thermal version like Mancini.

Or NAPA. You can likely get the right thermal clutch there.

I prefer the thermal... less fan speed, power loss and noise when things are cool.

every car I have has a thermal clutch
this particular one 520 stroker with a 190 stat and a 3 core 054 rad With a SHROUD

I have a stock 6 pack 18 1 /2 blade and a 5 blades viscous ..
Ill give the 5 blade a try
The last two drivers have had the 5 blade for past 15 years
