I'm converting my '70 Challenger RT from the stock RT hood to a shaker set-up. I've purchased the complete shaker set-up from Shakerhood.com, bubble, base plate, etc.....It came with no instructions. Now I do know how most of it goes together, but there were no
instructions or patterns to follow to drill the mounting, drain holes, etc in the bubble. I've looked in the factory manual, not much help. I've got a 440RB with single, Super Sniper efi set-up. If someone could post up some pix of the bubble mounting holes, base plate install, etc I would really
appreciate it. Also, some pix of the hood center "peak" to the shaker ring match-up. Looks like my new AMD hood gonna need some tweeking to make that line up! Thanks in advance for info and help!

Can you post some pics?

I'm not sure why you would need to drill holes for mounting of drains. Is your baseplate and adapter ring not made of metal?

I'll post a few photos. I'm not sure if they are what you want. This is my 71 Challenger 340 set up.

I should have said the shaker bubble didn't have any holes pre-drilled. I've seen some pictures of other's bubble, and it appears some of the holes are chamfered. My bubble is
just flat around the perimeter. Thanks for the reply! Jeff

Just a suggestion as I've done a number of Shaker set ups over the years, ditch the Shakerhood.com/Snobar Shaker bubble and invest in a bubble from Tommy the Chryco (former Gene Gregory units) you'll be glad you did...

ABSOLUTELY!

Get one from Tommy or find a real one.

If you decide to drill the bubble you have, you'll need to clamp the bubble to the base plate, assuming its drilled, and then transfer the holes to be drilled to the bubble using a transfer punch. Same with any other hole for air doors, etc. A transfer punch for the hole size in the base plate is the only way to go. If you need any other photos, just let me know. I've got plenty but I'm also willing to take mine apart.

Obviously, no one offers one for a tunnel ram with dual Dominator 4500 carbs so I am making my own with a drop base, leghtened the hood opening and bubble as well as making the bubble taller. Will seal to bottom of hood and stay on engine when done just like factory.

6pkrtse to run Doms on a tunnel ram on a Challenger the carbs will likely not fit at the back of the hole and the carbs are to high out of the hole. My Challenger Shaker hood would not do this. Used a flat hood and cut it back a couple of inches toward the window. So if you cut the hole in the hood you will have to fabricate most everything. There is a 1970 Cuda on the drag strip that has a hemi with twin turbos and a made up hood and scoop and it looks pretty nice for a hand made hood. Maybe someone can find a picture of the Cuda and post it for you.

OP

Like many have said and I will extend this that Tommy Chryco sells a pretty nice bubble that fits without any modification. The stuff Chryco sells under the bubble has been changed to duplicate most of what was wrong with it when he took over the company and what he bought from the company was pretty good already. It was very little things he changed to duplicate what Chrysler (Fram Built). Now I would try to sell off the scoop and buy Toms. Instructions are available from one or two person but if you do not have something similar to what Chrysler sold then the instructions might not work for you or cause you more trouble. When the bubble sits on the adaptor ring is messes all together and the bolt holes that would go through the bubble in to the ring would all line up for easy bolting.

Mike, Here's what the upper radiator hose looks like. I don't remember where I got it but it matched up to the old one exactly.

Yes, I have stretched the hood opening 3" towards the rear, along with the base plate and bubble 3". Being longer will also help it to be proportionate with the extra height. I will get it all to work and function as factory once done.

71340vert, it looks correct. It may be one of mine, but only three ever had the "RAD END" and 3462118 part number. The stamp was made by a fellow I thought from Colorado, Terry McCann got one and I got one as I supplied the original hose for the stamp to be modelled from. Anyway I had 20 made by Cooper rubber, only have a few left.

Mike, I may have gotten it from Colorado. I can't remember ordering anything from up your way as it seems to cost a fortune because of shipping. It's good to know you have some. What would be cost with shipping to Washington state. 99336? PM me. Thanks.
