I have a 93 Dakota with a 5.2. Plan on dropping in a 5.9 mag with a carb. What would b the easiest way to control the fuel pressure from the stock pump? It has the in tank fuel pump. Would like 2 have a gas gauge. Would just a regulator work? Any suggestions would b greatly appreciated. I would keep the efi but the truck is obd1 so my options are limited not converting it 2 obd2. So just gonna go carb cause the motor will b built a little. Thanks

A fuel regulator with a fuel return will solve the fuel pressure, but I'm not sure the pump will run without the input from the auto shutdown relay, and that relay won't function without the input from the computer that monitors the cam sensor and the throttle position sensor.

Where are you going to get the signal for the dist to function?

Personally, I would just run the 5.9 off the 5.2 OBD1 system and use the 5.9 injectors. May not be optimum, but will run. Unless of course you installing a radical 5.9...Gene

With obd1 your pretty much screwed when it comes 2 cams etc.... I would just run a stock electronic ignition.... wire it up and mostly by pass the computer. The tranny is hydraulic and u can make the lock up and od work with toggle switches. Just need 2 figure a way 2 cut the pressure down

93s have a return line. So it looks like a regulator will work then. Just have read conflicting info on it
