I had by mistake put synthetic oil in our 07 Caravan (3.8) when I changed it. It's time to change it now, should I go back to conventional or stick with the synthetic. I've heard stories saying it's OK and others say no.

What say the MoPar contingent?

Sure. Gas mileage has been roughly the same. I watch it more than she does (shocker) and haven't noticed any significant change. My wife drives this mostly, I do on Sunday church runs when we go the same time, or out for the night. Van has always used maybe 2 qts between changes. Roughly 1500 miles or so. She does a lot of short local trips, and it doesn't get nearly as much highway running as I'd like. Oil currently is almost coal black. My guess due to short trips. She works < 5 miles from the home

Have 2 different daily drivers that get the cheapest 10w30 on the shelf oil, but I change it at 3-4 thousand miles. Both are over 200k miles and run like new. 4.7 durango and 3.2 intrepid.

I guess I am old school and still change oil & filter at 3k miles . . . even the new cars, 17 Journey, 13 Ram1500, 06 Magnum . . . clean oil can only help keep things running better and not fouling things up . . . some would say unneccessary, but I call it cheap insurance to get maximum life . . . my 06 Magnum with 5.7 hemi, has 132k miles on it, and still running like new ! . ..

Short,20 minutes or less, in town driving is the worst type for any vehicle, the oil never gets warm whiney
Long trips are the best for the motor and oil, if you get the oil up to or above 180F for 10 or more minutes up

Agreed, short tips are murder.
We currently have an '06 & '07.
Had an '00 that almost turned over 200,000.
Dash board smoked itself. shruggy
Oil is changed every 5 to 6 thousand miles.
Thought I read that was when the oil needed it on the modern stuff. whistling
Cheapest oil & filters I can find.
Never comes out black, and no troubles with any we have had.
Both average 21 MPG.

I have mechanical Aptitude.
I can screw up anything.
