Hey folks. I don't know when my new engine will be finished, so I was thinking about dropping a milder 400 in my valiant. What I'm curious about, what header can I get away with running? It's a standard port low deck. Aftermarket k member so no torsion bars to get in the way. I cant run the headers for the car. Raised port 2.25 primary. Will a b body header work? This is relatively temporary, so I don't want to buy a tti or spend a ton of money here. Any recommendations? Thanks Bill

The biggest problem is the shock mount is in the way for anything with nice flowing primaries. I eventually cut the shock mount down & moved the upper mount onto my cage. Then it was a simple case of make my own headers. If you're still running inner fenders, you're going to be screwed, tight bends that make plug access hard are going to be your nightmare.

It still has full inner fenders. I already have my headers for the big motor. Was hoping that a set of off the shelf headers will fit.

Try a b body header, but be prepared to cut up and move one or more tubes. Buy cheap headers and cut off th collector and cut the flange so you can install one tube at a time. Or get a couple sets of used headers I'm sure you can make a set that way. When done get a slip on collector.

Do some research on the 1 3/4" Hedman B-body headers. Plenty has been writen about them fitting lowdeck abodies with just a few dings unless something has changed recently.

Don't use the "Elite" Headman headers, the # 3 and 7 tubes are a mess, even with a MS box. If you have a rack steering box, this may not matter, twocents
