I can't speak for the VDO, but having spent some time in the Automotive HVAC business, I can tell you that I have never had any issues with Four Seasons products.

So you're going to put a million miles on this car with the blower running continually, and that's why you're concerned with which is better?

Like many products today, I'm concerned with putting a PoS replacement part on that I'll have to replace multiple times.

While not a million miles, I have put 50,000 miles on this car, so enough that I do appreciate a functional HVAC system, thank you.

Haven't personally had a problem with either product and have used both brands for various repairs.
Generally, I like to look at both manufacturers' parts, and if one seems better made, choose that one.
Easier to do of course at a brick-and-mortar store than on the internet.

You didn't say what year car. If its newer get and OEM replacement. My experience with after market ones is they usually have less fins on the squirrel cage, lighter plastic, different plug-in, etc. twocents

The only Carbs I care about are under the hood!
