I personally don't see any advantage to using the flaming river u-joint unless you have a custom build & some weird steering geometry

The U-joint doesn't allow for any in/out movement as the frame flexes, the factory pot joint does.

do those u joints have enough length to convert from a power steering box to manual? Yes, it has a built in extension. Kinda pricey though, about $300 if memory serves me correctly?

Isn't there a rotational velocity variation per rotation with using a single joint vs a double joint.
Not sure if it is noticeable, an irritant, or whatnot.
I used a double joint, which also I think would allow some s steering shaft offset in a crush accident.
Reality check, that half the population is smarter then 50% of the people and it's a constantly contested fact.

I got one to get a small amount of additional header clearance.
I have had it for several years with no issues.
One thing it has going for it is it will not pull apart like a stock one can.
I was with a friend many years ago at the track when he had one come apart and left him with no steering in the lights. It was a Super Stock 67 Hemi four speed Belvedere II car and the constant tugging on the steering wheel while changing gears pulled the steering column up enough to pull it apart. Fortunately he was able to only drive it a little off the end of the track. I always put one of these clamps on my couplers. Prevents the eventual separation that seems to always occur on the stock couplers without it. Seems like most cars I've had never seemed to have one.

I've own Mopars starting with several 1957 Chrysler and a 1959 Dodge and multiple 1962 to 1971 A,B and E body cars. I've never seen or heard of that retainer, I like it  What brand, part number and where I can I buy them  
Mr.Cab Racing and winning with Mopars since 1964. (Old F--t, Huh)

Yeah, I hadn't ever seen them on any Mopars I owned, but once I found out about them I put one one every one since! They are readily available from many eBay sellers. I usually get the stainless steel version from Detroit Muscle Technologies

I have off the shelf universals on both of my cars one has been on it for over 10,000 miles and I have had no problems. I believe there are a few different mopar specific ones, manual to manual, power to power, and power column to manual box. You're talking about a Universal joint like the Flaming River Joint, not the stock coupler, correct?
