I'm not saying I won't pay for what it takes to get the OE-style switches if that's what I have to do.

Montclaire master Joined: Feb 2003 Posts: 7,982 Scranton, PA	There are always places like ebay for good used. In the old days you'd buy a spare cluster and harvest what you could. I would think twice about drilling a bunch of holes in your dash to accommodate GM style or universal switches.

Montclaire master Joined: Feb 2003 Posts: 7,982 Scranton, PA	I took a look at some of your posts and seeing as how your car was hacked up for drag racing, I think you should be looking at two options. One, you can try to find a whole dash assembly with the harness and cluster. Since you are looking for a 73 it might not cost as much as you may think, esp if it's a standard cluster. The other option would be to work with what you have and use a universal harness with aftermarket switches and gauges. Last edited by Montclaire; 03/14/19 01:41 PM.

I was able to get a cluster but none of the gauges worked so I installed modern gauges in their place. However, the cluster did not have headlamp, wiper or panel switches. BDW master Joined: May 2005 Posts: 4,704 Florida	You should be able to buy what you need cheap. I had a complete standard cluster for sale for $25 a couple of years ago and couldn’t sell it. Look in the for sell section, should be easy.

You could get it working for now and look for the proper switches later. I have mechanical Aptitude. I can screw up anything.

There should be a steel plate on the back side for just the switch panel (it separates). You can use that as a template and make another one to use generic toggles if you can find ones that fit. Might also find something similar in another mopar application, I think the wiper switch was also used on a-bodies.

The wiper switch is the one that’s gonna get me. Just looking at options and even though I’m Not restoring the car I want it to look like it’s together, ya know ?

I think the only difference is the number and orientation of the tabs on the back of the switch. If you could find one in a bone yard and get a copy of the wiring diagram you could probably adapt it to work, it just won't fit the stock harness plug. 71-77 van/truck and F-body are similar too but with even more prongs.
