Anyone have suggestions on switches other than OE to replace headlamp, wiper, and dome switches for ‘73 barracuda ?
I AM NOT DOING A RESTORATION. I just need function.
Thanks

on the high amp headlights you might relay it directly to the alt, good plan for heater/AC. No thoughts on the others

I know you are an advertiser and I looked through your online store and the site's vendor sponsors before I posted this only to find they are all expensive. I'm not saying I won't pay for what it takes to get the OE-style switches if that's what I have to do.

You either know how to set up electrical or you pay somebody who does. It really is that simple (and so are the electronics on these old cars).

There are always places like ebay for good used. In the old days you'd buy a spare cluster and harvest what you could. I would think twice about drilling a bunch of holes in your dash to accommodate GM style or universal switches.

I took a look at some of your posts and seeing as how your car was hacked up for drag racing, I think you should be looking at two options. One, you can try to find a whole dash assembly with the harness and cluster. Since you are looking for a 73 it might not cost as much as you may think, esp if it's a standard cluster. The other option would be to work with what you have and use a universal harness with aftermarket switches and gauges.

I’m not finding it difficult to set up. I am without switches that’s all

I was able to get a cluster but none of the gauges worked so I installed modern gauges in their place. However, the cluster did not have headlamp, wiper or panel switches. I’m just looking for alternatives. I don’t want to cut anymore than I have to.

You should be able to buy what you need cheap.
I had a complete standard cluster for sale for $25 a couple of years ago and couldn’t sell it.
Look in the for sell section, should be easy.

Not trying to be a jack-A$$, but toggle switches from the hard ware store fits this description.

You could get it working for now and look for the proper switches later.

I have mechanical Aptitude.
I can screw up anything.

I took a quick look on ebay, can't believe what people are pricing used clusters at. There should be a steel plate on the back side for just the switch panel (it separates). You can use that as a template and make another one to use generic toggles if you can find ones that fit. Might also find something similar in another mopar application, I think the wiper switch was also used on a-bodies.

Yes, the prices, in my opinion are insane. I had thought about trying to use an abody wiper switch. The wiper switch is the one that’s gonna get me. Just looking at options and even though I’m
Not restoring the car I want it to look like it’s together, ya know ?

Cell phone pic. It seems that the orientation is almost always wrong and stays with the pic no matter what you do.

73-76 A-body 2 speed switches look very similar to 72-74 E-body. I think the only difference is the number and orientation of the tabs on the back of the switch. If you could find one in a bone yard and get a copy of the wiring diagram you could probably adapt it to work, it just won't fit the stock harness plug. 71-77 van/truck and F-body are similar too but with even more prongs.

Not sure how you would rig up one of those, pretty different from stock.

For reference:
3420865 dimmer switch
2947305 headlamp switch
3621666 2 spd wiper
3621670 3 spd wiper
