I am curious as to those who are using this system - is it as great as they say it is? I have seen them do well at track days I am curious as to how they work? I know its just air shocks but how do you adjust for bumpsteer at different ride heights? also how do the rear shocks work in place of rear springs? what I mean I know with coilovers and leafs you pick the rate you want but how do these adjust rear rates? how do sway bars factor in?

It was the most problematic system on my Dad's Overhaulin setup. Perhaps it was the hasty install, but it ate a couple of air valves, rear shocks and I think the backseat bracing started to pull out of the floor.

You really don't, and the limitation there should be obvious.

Reality check, that half the population is smarter then 50% of the people and it's a constantly contested fact.

what is the rear rate of their springs then?

Maybe we are talking two different things, I was assuming you were thinking more rear "air springs" , their rate is based on fixed air chamber effective area, although some are have varying dimensions to allow some varying rate, and PSI, changing PSI which changes ride height when no other adjustments are made. Any conventional actual spring rates offered I can't comment on.

I can't be the only one on the fence about this! does the scca rules care if you use them?

It depends. In Production or Touring classes, not allowed. In CAM classes, allowed.

looking at this option as the next step in evolution - I would love to change ride height on the fly - but don't really want to sacrifice spring rates

Just get Ridetech then and run in one of the CAM classes as SCCA. It's an open class. Tommwheels here built a 300hp Valiant and beat 500-700hp Camaros. It's not all about the suspension, but the driver.

Not as many good solutions on the rear, but on the front, you might be able to craft a few multi mounting locations on the air spring on one end and vary the motion ratio. I toyed with thess idea, but not enough bang for the buck IMO.
