On Saturday I am looking at a 85 ramcharger. I plan on doing a g3 hemi swap. With that said has anyone ever put a rc body on a newer truck frame or Durango frame let's say 04 and up? I know the wheel base will need to he shortend to fit rc. Appreciate any input. Thanks Eric

Goodluck! It doesn't appear to be too many people have attempted putting it on a new chassis. Hopefully in a month or so when I get my two post lift up I am going to attempt to set one on a 2007 2500 chassis. (Regular cab 8' box)

Thinking maybe a more modern suspension might make the Ramcharger little more everyday driver friendly.

Guessing the biggest problem is going to be how far the engines are setback in comparison with the wheels. Be interesting to see how much you can move the engine forward.

I will sticky This Thread keep us updated

I agree! It is my goal to make a daily driver out of this ramcharger. I need to do some measuring. I know a guy with 06 Durango so may ask to borrow his for a bit 😉

I never ended up getting that 85 ramcharger, but i did just bring home a 87 Ramcharger! It was only 30 miles from me and is actually pretty solid for this area. It appears it was some kind of government truck. Has a spot light and a body plug underneath the left rear window. Need to replace the bottom of the quarter panels. Everything else is solid. I will have to replace one rocker because it is dented. Not sure if it runs or not so hoping to mess with it this weekend. Best part, I only paid $400! Now i am on the hunt for a 04-08 hemi durango as a donor.

Go you! You only have to drive 30 miles I had to drive 10 hours one way to find a rust-free 93 2-wheel drive. Looks like it might have had a sunroof for something but I have yet to uncover the plexiglass and silicone to see what exactly it is. Oh yeah my lift is up but I have yet to use it for any research because it is being occupied by another project left by my brother!
Still intending on doing 6.4 swap in the four-wheel drive Ramcharger

durango frame option a good idea-----more flat across the rear axle like a ram charger...

I was able to get a donor durango. Looks like this swap will work out. Guess we will see. Track width is good. Need to shorten wheel base 13". I will have to use a different gas tank because it's right in the middle of where we need to shorten the frame.
