Hi, does anyone use a detailed restoration spreadsheet? Listing stuff like each step of the labor, every part, who will restore each part, finishes, or where replacement part would be sourced, cost, time line, etc?
Anything you would be willing to share? I am especially interested in 67 B body. Thanks, Joel

Sounds good. Let's give this forum a shot to see if anyone has one. Why reinvent the wheel. If nothing shows up, we can collaborate on one. I have 2 cars I need to do.

Just read down over the list. A couple of out of order things. Don't know if he just got the wording wrong or ??? It lists the windshield stainless and backlight stainless going in before the glass. I suspect just a wording screw up. Also the shoulder belt clips before the headliner. Other than that it is an awesome list to say the least. I know I am going to print one off to follow form my car. Definite help!!! Thanks for posting and thanks to Rick for compiling that information! It is greatly appreciated here.

Yes I have been working on this for all my cars. I call it the "Impossible Task" - stolen from John Wick.

I took the Resto Rick list and added the parts that go under each task.

I am far from finished because I have too many cars.

at one time, stacey david had a book printed that you could list all the parts and part numbers, plus a ton of other information about "your" project.
i think it was titled a "build book", or something like that. it was out of print for a long time, and i just quit looking for it. i don't know if it's around today or not.
if i remember, this was around the start of his gearz show. how long ago was that ?

I do full spreadsheets for my engine builds. Just listing parts' names alone takes up over 200 lines (250+ for Hemi's). Its a real PITA but a huge money-saver in the long run. It especially saves money at swap meets when you have a list of 'new' prices for the parts you need right in front of you with part numbers.

I can't imagine trying to do this with the whole car!

You did say anything and not sure if it will help but could be a tool to add to your arsenal. I used it to keep up with mostly re-plated hardware. It has notes of all the finishes of the original pieces removed from my AAR. With that said there may be a few pieces that were finished differently than what was noted due to learning what was correct and not noting the correction.

I shared the file from my OneDrive space. Hope it helps.

Guys

Give me a day or two to mod my file so it does contain exact VIN codes

I'll post it

It's pretty 70 Challenger, 70 Superbee, 70 GTX specific.

Thanks
Morty

Joel, just as an FYI, I have one of Stacey Davids books so if you need anything from it just let me know. It's obviously brand generic but covers quite a few common items.
