I don't have my car here, and I really don't want to rely only on my memory.

How wide are the rear frame rails on an A body? Outside to outside measured in width?

I think they were abut 36" but I am not positive.

Thank you, Rob

Ok that is good to know. I think we have spoken before, but it has been awhile. We are moving the springs in on a 67 Valiant that came from GP last fall.

Hope to get to the track by early summer.

Front or rear measurements on the sub frame outside to outside? They do vary due to the width of the sub frames at the front and rear not being the same shruggy scope
I'm going to assume that your moving the leaf springs into the rear sub frame, correct? If so you can do that three different ways, I've done all three. up
Move the front hanger into the center of the existing frame, move it into the inside of outer frame rail (most clearance gained up scope) or move it in so the inside edge is in the inner side of the frame rails work
If you want to look at my 1969 Dodge Dart GTS the next time your up this way you can up It has them moved in the last way so the springs will clear the stock gas tank with a little hammer on the passenger side of the tank grin My 1966 Coronet has them moved into the inside of the outer frame rail, you can look at it also up

38.5-39 is about right.

That's measured about where the STD axle centerline would be.
