Scott- we have hashed this at length.

All- my father ordered this car new. In 1976 he restored it and installed a completely factory AC set up from a 1967 Coronet. Pics of the engine bay prior to 1976 were in the archived thread. The picture was taken once the install was completed. The attention to factory detail was executed back then in a manner that is only now followed today: hours and money spent to get all the correct fasteners, carefully cutting the dash for factory vents and so on. It was not a slap-dash half done execution.

Believe it
Don't believe it
Doesn't matter

Details are noted at length in the archived thread by someone who has no vested interest in what the public believes (my father, user RH41H).

If/when Darryl Davis publishes a 1966/67 book this car will be noted within.

Additional pics from the same day as the first pic noted in 72N96RR post. My mother is the one lashing the valves, and I am the child in the picture. These pictures are March 1973. No AC in the car at this time.

Like I have stated before, It's not about me believing you or not. I simply don't add cars to my "known" list without a VIN#, it's not personal.

Since it's a Super High Performance axle package car I'm surprised that it survived more than a week grin

Well without having the VINs on every vehicle Chrysler ever built from Dec. 1963 to July of 1971 or maybe even 1972 Aug. Sept build there is no way to tell what is the rarest Hemi Car built. You can state known Vehicles built and have numbers but that can always be added to. Now how do you set up the definition of what is rare. Do you toss in options, preproduction builds. Steve J. collection using options like Sun Roof Hemi E bodies would make his 1971 Hemi Challenger Sunroof a one or one for 1971 but it is one of at least 77 1971 Hemi Challengers known to be built. So 77 known is really a high number compared to the other known Hemi builds but if you add the sunroof option it is the only one built with those two option on a 1971 Challenger Hemi, Sunroof. So how do we define them after the Hemi. Transmission, body style, options on and on.

My dad had one of the '69 Coronet HEMI verts (Y2, auto) as a company car back in '69. If anyone knew back then what they would be worth......

He had to turn the cars back in every year to Chrysler. I do know one of the 2 yellow cars is restored. Not sure on the other.

So then you are not sure if your dad's car is one of those 2 ?

Any truth to the rumour about Landy or one of the other factory teams having a 68 Monaco wagon with a Hemi for a tow car?

If that was an "official" build it should qualify.

Yes, "None" existing is pretty rare smile

*1970 Coronet Hemi R/T convertibles? 2 known to exist so that's 1 too many for the title.

Isn't one of those supposed to be a re-body?

The FT6 car is the canada car, the FJ5 car is the export car. The one and only USA build car is MIA

as far as I know.

This is the 1st Ive ever heard either one referred to as a rebody
