That's great news! I know a few weeks ago it wasn't looking good.

Has anybody actually built and run an engine using this new block?

Any issues with casting quality or machine errors requiring correction - like lifter bores off location, etc.?

Almost worth pulling the trigger on if I knew who was casting them. Says they ship tomorrow on Jegs.

This site has them listed for nearly $600 less.

https://www.moparamerica.com/oem-parts/mopar-block-bare-block-p5160151ac

They and Jegs also have another Hemi block listed. P5160149AC.
It's slightly pricier, but no bore size, or overview are given.
Anyone know the difference?

I like their price but it's hard buying something from a business without a phone.

RockAuto is the same, no phone, all comms by email. But they are well established and you're usually not dropping $3500 on an order with them.

Mike I'm guessing the 149 is finish bored. If you can find one P1560150AC is a 4.5 bore. In the questions on the 149 they say it is an OEM block and not mega. The 151 they say is current production run and a standard cast iron block. #350.

No problem Jegs will price match the cheaper listing too.

Mike

I haven't seen this batch.....take with a grain of salt

The last batch we saw back in August was Dalton Foundry (same as previous/going back to 2008 when the "world" block came out) out of IN, and a newer machine shop JNB out of Fowlerville MI. It appeared to many to match the mp mgt story that old castings were waiting to be machined, and some folks commented the castings appeared to have sat for a time.

MP never required a traceable casting date marked on the block (only machining dates are documented), so no telling.

best guess: Most likely the same supply chain as last August...however to look into it, I would need access to the supplier codes on the label + would need to see the foundry mark on a recently purchased block to confirm.

A batch of 10 showing up at Jegs is a good sign they're probably running them again for real.

I called Jegs yesterday and tried to order one. They do not have any of them in stock and they have started moving the date back again... I don't know how they can get away with selling stuff they don't have on ebay ?

On the Jegs website, it shows an expected delivery date of 2/28/19 for that part number.

It’s doesnt show it as in stock.

My guess is....... if they got a delivery of 10, they’d be gone in a few days.

Do you mean only the mp world blocks only? I think my mp mega block (pre world) has a casting date on it. Circa 2006. Not 100% sure , but i believe it is a casting date.

On Summit, Jegs or many other websites ifor it doesn't say the same ship day as the date you are ordering that usually means it is not in stock and has to be ordered by them from the manufacturer.

Yep, that's what I meant....Post '08 World Style has no casting date. The date etched into the front is just a machining date.

Pre-World water and mega was a whole other setup, everything was different.

I’m sure it’s a misprint but it says 10.275 deck height

I wonder if they actually had them or not.

If they did, I’m not at all surprised they sold out quickly.
