If anyone can use some Edelbrock big block race heads check out Mancini's clearance section.

It's got me excited and I don't have either the money or the engine.

$380 less per pair than the Victor 77929, which is the same head...... only these Mopar ones have the earlier chamber.

If I had an extra $1200....... I’d probably pick them up.

Could a guy make money flipping them? Do they include valves?

They’ve been on sale at Mancinis for a while, and they still have them...... so I don’t know easy it would be to flip them for a profit.

According to the description in a MP catalog for that part number, they do come with valves.

Bare machined heads plus valves, according to MP listing. Just do a google search on the part number they give, there is a lot of info out there on them, but your mileage may vary. Most other places discount them to $1070 each.

That's a link to my posting on these heads from a month or two ago. Pic from Mancini definitely shows they're the MP version of the Edelbrock 77929 that comes with valves.

Not an apples-to-apples comparison. The MP heads are as-cast with standard-size ports, not CNC-ported and opened up to MW ports like those Indys.

As for myself, a man who still has five (5) carburetors doesn't need a third set of cylinder heads, either.

Funny thing is I sold my last set of NIB 75 cc 77929 Victors for $1200 some years ago, and I'm not sure the owner (an occasional Moparts poster) has ever used them.

I am know mechanical wizard or engine guru so this might sound off or basic but the Trick flow 270's are a max wedge port with 270cc intake runner and 74cc exhaust runners while these MP/Victor heads are standard port at 280cc intake and 100cc exhaust. Is this due to the Edelbrock/MP Victor being taller and have longer runners or is it the shape and girth of the runner when compared with the 270s? I have not seen these two heads next to each other and am just guessing the victors are taller with longer runners. If it is the length of the runner would the port velocity still be higher in the victors if they were ported to max wedge size? I see the max wedge Victors are 290cc intake.

Right, the Victors are a raised-port design, so there is more volume simply as a result of the length. I think if you "adjust" the intake runner volume to account for the Victor's design, it's probably comparable to a 240-250 cc "conventional" port.
