Not being a class racer the dyno for me is about base fuel, cam timing, ignition timing, leaks (water, oil, vac) and to make sure it's not eating its self. All hard to start with in the car.

I always seem to need more fuel in the car, than on the dyno, which leads to more lead lol.

Cheap dyno headers are a good thing, especially when your car headers won't fit. I've invested in good dyno pieces, and let others borrow them for mopes.
