I think they are 1969 440 valve covers but the orange one with the pvc openin has a special relief on the end as does the red one. I guess the orange one could be a 70-71?

Orange 1970 LH
Red 1969 or older LH

Do they have any spark plug looms welded on them?

No sign of any spark plug wire clamps on them. It seems like the reliefs on the ends are special for some kind of clearance for a brake booster or something?

Thanks Bill. I still would like to know what the earlier one came from? That big relief on the back of it is kind of curious to me.

The earlier one red one is dented on the back corner. That's doesn't look like a factory relief.

It looks like a factory relief on the side to me? It’s a few inches long. The rear top corner is just a little surface rust and not a dent.

Yes it is, it's so common I overlooked it. I was referring to the dent on the top with the bare metal and surface rust on it.

My 1960-1962 big blocks don't have that relief. But they are 4 bolt covers. 1967 and 1968 have that relief there from 382-2bbl to 440HP. I'm thinking it is for HP b-body manifolds and they put it all covers to have themselves coverd. Not really needed for that because 1979 covers are the same size and lack that relief.

Why isn't it a 68-69 also? They look the same on that site.

Those are pictures of AMD reproduction valve covers, not original Chrysler parts. So we ask the question, how accurate are they?
