Tucson AZ,
Anyone using these mounts by chance? I've had a set laying around for years and am thinking I'm finally going to get around to using them. When I dug them out the other day, they looked a bit odd to me. Any chance of getting a pic of them installed? I'm sure I'll get around to mocking things up at some point, just was curious how they fit in the meantime. Thanks guys.

Tucson AZ,
Since I dug them out for a picture, I just went ahead and figured out the mounting. Looks like they just bolt to the two front lugs on the block only. Additionally, utilizing them with a high volume oil pump looks to be less optimal as they will require some work to clear the oil pump cover. I'm sure they'll work out, just going to need some loving if I had to guess. I'll post up some mock up pics when I get more time and report back. At this point, I'd be curious to see how some of the other conversion mounts fit. work -Trent

I'd never do a conversion like that since you'll most likely run into a bunch of interference issues down the road. The guys who build headers aren't expecting those big chunks of metal to be there for example and like you said, oil pump clearance will most likely be a problem.

I think the best way is to find a V8 K frame with the spool mounts and then move the mounts back like the factory did. When you do that you end up with an almost factory solution so headers fit and oil pans fit and all of that jazz. There are of course other solutions. You can use the earlier V8 K frame or cut the mounts off of that /6 K that you have and go with a motor plate.

The AR Engineering motorplate is one of the best mods I did to my red car. Makes me feel foolish for fighting mounts for 20 years. Those brackets look less than ideal to me.

Wow the Schumacher conversion mounts are really nice compared to those.

Tucson AZ,
Tough crowd. wink

In all fairness, I'm not even sure there were any other conversion mounts on the market when these were purchased. I'm thinking it was sometime around 1996.

In any case, I've also got the 2" CPPA under chassis headers so I'm hopeful everything will fit together nicely. I'm not saying the mounts are flawless but I think with a few tweaks, they'll be alright. I'm hoping I can mock up the K frame to the block soon and check fitment on a couple items before long. I have some concerns about the Milodon deep pan clearing the steering so I'm kind of anxious to see how it looks. I'll let you guys know how it goes and post up some pics when I get around to it. -Trent up

Well hopefully they work together. I remember looking at every bb a body i could find when the cppa stuff was available. I seem to remember the headers having to be beat to clear everything. I have 2 bb a body, one with the Schumacher s6 to bb, and the other with a spool mount sb I frame i modified to work. They both have pros and cons. If that stuff works, yeah I'd use it.

Had the same set up in my demon years ago .
Worked good for what it was .
If I remember correctly the rubber goes on the passenger side .
