My local auto value store mixes it up for my and puts it in a rattle can. It's a very nice color match.

Two favorites:
Shot with a gun: PPG 3116 Chrysler Mandarin Orange
Rattle cans: VHT SP120
These two are really close in color.
The gun paint gives the beautiful, thick "dipped in plastic" appearance
Which sometimes I like and sometimes to be honest I can't stand it.
The rattle can looks more like a thin assembly line job which I like.

The Mopar performance resto orange is also good but I think they discontinued it.

Rattle can, based on reputation probably worth a look:
Seymour 620-1450 Omaha Orange
Never tried it personally

Plenty of others!

I buy the restoration stuff by the pint from Frank Badalson. It's PPG Delstar. Last time I bought it, it was $80 for a pint, but painted two engines. I brush it on. I have engines that I did 8-9 years ago that still look good.

Yes, that's the only color I paint my engines. I used to use the MP stuff, but it got to the point where you had to buy a case of 12 to maybe get 6 usable cans. If Badalson doesn't have it listed on his site, call, he has it. It's mixed off of a really nice survivor. The color is dead on.

Is that paint ready to be applied or does it need to be mixed with anything?
Thanks!

I've never mixed it with anything. I crack it open, and start brushing.

POR15 HEMI ORANGE . Small can will do about 3-4 engines, need your spray gun.

This is the Resto stuff from Badalson, and a photo from this summer of an engine I did in 2010. The valve covers are a little more faded as they were done in 2007.

I use por15 also and it's a good match. The turquoise looks good too. Otherwise I mix my own in urethane. Either way, using a good spray gun works much better than a can and using a paint with an activator.

Is this a good match for the darker Hemi orange or the lighter Race Hemi orange?

The race hemi orange compared to the street hemi orange is a lot different, there is no light and dark Race or Street hemi orange, they are two distinct different colors scope
There are a lot of choices on which brand of paint to use on both colors though shruggy

Seems to me that early Race Hemi Orange is different from later, with the earlier Hemis using the Max Wedge shade, which is browner.

Max Wedge/Race Hemi orange was also used on the Street Hemi up to mid/late 1968 model year. After that a darker Street Hemi orange was used on Hemis and in the 1970/71 model years most of the high performance engine line.

Me thinks you are misinformed, I owned and race both M.W. and street hemi shruggy The 1964/65 and 1968 race hemi used the same engine paint as the M.W. engines, I've never noticed a difference in between the 1966 street hemi engine paint up to the 1971 street hemi engine paint in original cars confused shruggy

Cab, No question on the Street Hemis. Race Hemi orange up to late 68 then the darker Street Hemi orange till the end. On the 68 Race Hemis I am not certain on those you could be right on that.

I've got a case of Race Hemi orange a guy gave me probably 20 years ago. I paint everything black so maybe my kid will paint a BBQ or something with it.

Last engine I painted was 69 383 hp engine... it was a perfect match to the paint mopar sells in cans. Except it won't fade in a few months laugh2
