What’s the thoughts on the 2.25 valve head. NOT the 2.400 valve head. My pistons are machined for the 2.25 valve size and the motor is 433 cid

Thanks

Haven’t had any in my shop, but they’re “supposed” to flow quite a bit more than the oe heads.

That is originally the "canfield head" that Indy bought and brought to market - I knew the original developer and it is a real good stock replacement head and with your bore size its pretty much a bolt-on.

I would buy them from an Indy dealer and have them checked over by a competant engine builder if you go that route - someone like Dwayne Porter - AKA fast68plymouth

Is this motor a 400 block with a 440 stroke, 3.750, crankshaft in it?
Or is this a hemiroid motor?

I have a set on an engine I just got running. Zero tuning, i mean zero as of yet, and the manifold thats on it has fuel distribution issues....i just put the manifold on till my good manifold was finished. No real data.

Are they a true direct bolt on or is there something needed to use them like a external oil line?

The Edelbrock Victor Hemi heads are good bolt on heads also.

I'm doing this by my smartphone so it's probably not going to read quite right I bought the first set of Indy 426 Sr cylinder heads that they see and seed at ND I was not impressed by their early C&C work they didn't make any more horsepower than a good set of iron heads with a good valve job I sent them out to Modern cylinder head to have them see what they can get out of them and after a long pissing match with modern all he did was put a bowl blend on them and flow them if load 387 CFM at 700 left I installed them on my 6:05 and I have to admit that was very impressed with them on the 605 the engine made 818 foot pounds of torque at 4800 RPM and 853 horsepower at 5800 RPM a good cylinder head with a little bit of work done to them as is I wouldn't bother with him

They are a bolt-on no external lines - they were meant to be an upgraded Stock Replacement = SR. The HiPo version has the larger valve and adjusted valve angle - similar to the edelbrock Victor Jr. but with both the Hipo Head and the Edelbrock Victor jr. you need a bigger bore and a custom piston to take full advantage of the head design. As with anything form Indy having the valve job checked and making sure the valve springs are correct – along with a little clean-up of the ports will make a huge difference in the end result

I have the 2.4 heads, and they flow real good...Run those on my 605.

On a smaller 484 hemi we ran OOTB Eddy heads, and they ran low 10's on a very mild engine.

We like both heads....The nice thing about the eddy heads is the spark plug holes are already heli-coiled. I ended up doing that to my Hipo Indy canfield 2.400 heads.

As before I'm trying to do this with the voice feature on my smartphone anyway I have both sets of heads for 26 SRS and the hypo Indies for you the 426 SRS with a little bit of porting work would be the hot ticket the Hyatt pools move the torque and horsepower band way up even on a 6:05 and you're going to lose a ton of bottom-end torque the SRS with littleport work should work fantastic in your case
